Paint Spot and Valspar are the proud sponsors of this year’s Master Painters Australia Annual Awards Dinner on 4th May.  The event, at Rydges Bell City Ballroom in Preston, is the seen as the event of the year for MPA’s members.

Barry Morgan, Chairman of Paint Spot explained that, after 40 years in the industry, this was their year to step into a sponsorship role.  Barry said, “The time is right for us.  We’ve had a long standing relationship with Master Painters Australia (MPA) and wanted to take a proactive supporting role of co-sponsor, along with Valspar.”

The unique sponsorship partnership is synergistic. Paint Spot is Valspar’s largest customer in Victoria and Valspar wanted to show strong support to MPA as a way to solidify member relationships with them even further.  Together it is a strong union giving assurance to the evening’s Dinner and Awards celebrations.

Of the Annual Awards Dinner, Barry said, ‘It’s a big deal.  It’s an opportunity to meet and greet and to build relationships, which is important in this industry.”

From an industry perspective, Barry predicts that the next two years will be difficult.  However he added that it is the strength of the MPA that will help members through harder times ahead, especially to the newer members.

Paint Spot speaks from experience, having being through a couple of recessions since their 1973 beginning, they appreciate how an association like MPA can make a difference, lend support and provide confidence, credibility and professionalism.  Formed over 100 years ago, MPA provides independent representation for trade firms and individuals involved in painting, decorating and signwriting.

It is for this reason that the Awards Dinner is a night of gathering and celebration, with recognition of members who have reached significant membership milestones from 10 to 55 years.
