APMF – Victorian Paint trial begins 1st March, 2013

The Australian Paint Manufacturers’ Federation Inc. will run a trial of up to three months in Victoria to collect, treat and dispose of waste paint from trade sources. The drop-off locations for the trial will collect data to assist the development of a national strategy for safe disposal of paint. A total of six Council transfer stations have agreed to support the trial by providing facilities for trade painters to dispose of waste paint free of charge. Drop-off’s limited to a maximum 100 litres per visit, and in no bigger than 20 litres containers. What a great idea. It’s about time we had somewhere to dispose of unwanted paint. Although you’d think there would be somewhere in Melbourne we could go. For this to work you need somewhere close to the city, or contractors won’t bother.
