Up Date On National Licensing

The National Occupational Licensing Authority (NOLA) have established interim Occupational  Licensing Advisory Committee (OLACs) for the first wave occupations such as eletrical and plumbing, providing a forum for industry and the Authority to resolve outstanding issues and to plan for implantation of national licensing in these catorgories in 2013 .

Discussions on Building and building related occupations, conveyances, and valuers are expected to commence from 1st July 2013.

Painting will be considered within the discussions of the building license.

As the peak industry body Master Painters Australia will be represented in these discussions.

Master Painters Australia Limited is the peak industry body representing painters and decorators in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, Australian Capital Territory, Tasmania and South Australia.

With its aim being to protect and promote the interests of the painting and decorating industry at a National level.

Master Painters Australia will continue to meet with Government and industry representatives to pursue the introduction of a national licensing scheme which will protect and promote the painting and decorating industry at a national level for all contractors, manufacturers, retailers, consumers and support quality training for our industry.

We will keep you informed of its progress and look forward to bringing our trade to the level that it deserves.
